The 5G Cellular Remote Driving Robot and ROS project was a groundbreaking endeavor that received the esteemed Best Device Application Award in the International oneM2M Hackathon 2022. This project aimed to develop a remote-controlled robot that utilized the power of 5G cellular networks, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and the Robot Operating System (ROS) to enable seamless control and monitoring capabilities.

As the Team Leader, I demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by effectively guiding the team through the entire project lifecycle. The project’s success can be attributed to my ability to coordinate and collaborate with team members, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.

One of my key contributions was the design of the system architecture, which involved integrating multiple platforms and establishing smooth interfaces between them. This intricate task required a deep understanding of C, Python, Raspberry Pi, 5G networks, IoT, oneM2M, ROS, REST, AWS, Docker, and computer vision.

To facilitate the seamless transmission of commands and sensor data, I developed a Docker image for the oneM2M service. This allowed for efficient deployment and management of the system, ensuring reliability and scalability. Additionally, I created a client application that enhanced the robot’s remote control capabilities, enabling real-time interaction and feedback.

As part of the project’s implementation, I played a vital role in constructing the final robot prototype, ensuring its functionality and performance aligned with the project’s objectives. The successful assembly of the robot prototype showcased my technical expertise and attention to detail.

To share the project’s accomplishments and contribute to the community, I published a comprehensive public GitHub repository, providing detailed documentation and access to the project’s codebase. Additionally, I created a captivating video demonstration that showcased the robot’s capabilities and highlighted the innovation achieved. To further educate and inspire others, I also authored an informative blog post detailing the project’s development process, challenges overcome, and lessons learned.

Overall, my exceptional contributions as the Team Leader of the 5G Cellular Remote Driving Robot and ROS project have not only resulted in recognition and achievement but have also made significant strides in advancing remote-controlled robotics, 5G networks, and IoT technologies.
